Today we went to one of those places where the water shoots up from the ground. Trevor slipped and fell pretty hard...he scratched his upper lip, obviously, and his shoulder pretty good too. That one has a band-aid on it so there's no picture. Poor Trevor. :-( Good thing I got their pictures taken LAST week!

Getting pictures taken with 3 kids=Exhuastion
Last Friday I got my kids' pictures taken at Picture People. I have never attempted to get a professional picture of all 3 kids. I've been meaning to for a whole year but somehow it's always been on the back burner and therefore it never got done!
Let me just say that I do not enjoy taking my kids to get their pictures taken. It is absolutely exhausting. That is why it's been 1 1/2 years since A & T had gotten theirs taken. But I had to suck it up and do this.
So I got to Picture People and memories of why I hate this so much came flooding back. Alyssa would not do anything the photographer told her to do...Trevor did great at the individual shots but would not hold in position for more than 2 seconds during the group shot. Kylie was a typical 1 year old and crawled away the second I walked away. It was EXHAUSTING. I think all mothers know what I'm talking about.
I am very impatient when my kids are being photographed. It's like, Please, just for ONCE in your life, stay still for 5 seconds in the position she puts you in, PLEASE!!! I'll do anything! Just Pleeeease!! And I turn in to this completely desperate person. I think of saying things like, "I'll go buy you anything you want at Toys R Us after this if you just hold still and let her get this picture." But then I realize how desperate that sounds and don't want the photographer to think I spoil my kids and give them anything they want so I don't say it. (I seriously was so desperate, I almost said that)
Anyways, so then comes time to see the results. And this is where Picture People is soooooo smart. They bring out already printed pictures all in frames and everything. And they catch you when you're already soo emotional from the previous 30 minutes, and you've got to walk away with something good for all that work you just put forth. And you have the mind frame of, "I don't care how much it costs, it's worth it for what I just went through." And they actually got a pretty cute group shot...

Kylie turns ONE!!!
Last night we went to pizza to celebrate Kylie's birthday with the Pebbles and the Hodnets (our old Bishop and his wife, they were in town!) This was Kylie's first encounter with a cupcake...
She looked at it...
This was today, on her actual b-day...
she tears in...
I can still fold the laundry
I wasn't sure if I wanted to post this one...it's borderline just plain MEAN! :-) But it was still funny to me.
This morning I was folding laundry and Alyssa and Trevor were playing with Kylie's new "buggy" toy, pushing eachother around in it. They came in to the family room where I was, and Trevor said, "Lets pretend Mom died." I looked at him, he looked at me, and if my face matched my feelings I kind of had this look of shock and sadness on my face and Alyssa goes, "Well, Mom, you can still fold the laundry."
As if that's what I was sad about...."well if I'm dead how am I going to fold this laundry?"

Trevor's Rivercats Hat
When we were back in Sacramento in April, Grandpa and Grandma Campbell took the kids to a Rivercats game. Well ever since, Trevor has been OBSESSED with baseball, and the Rivercats. Grandpa told him he'd get him a Rivercats hat so Trevor's been waiting and waiting, not so patiently. He asked us about it every day and didn't let Grandpa forget either! So yesterday IT came. Trevor was SO happy. He is always telling us that he wants to be play on the Rivercats team when he grows up. He's so funny.
Many many pictures of Kylie
Kylie will be 1 on Saturday! I can not get over this. I feel like she was just born. I don't feel like she should be 1 yet or something. But we're very excited for her birthday. Seriously, I think the kids are more excited for her b-day than for their own! Here are some pictures of Kylie taken these last few weeks...
She walks with her walker now, I've been trying to post a video of this but it will not let me for some reason.
Sisterly Love
The girls were playing together yesterday! :-) It was really cute. Alyssa set up this little table and chair for Kylie to sit at and "eat" food. Kylie LOVED it! Every once in a while she would scoot off of the "chair" and would get so mad and make her new little noise until someone helped her back on the chair. The noise..."Eh eh eh eh eh" over and over again. She says it whenever she wants something.

Kids say funny things
Today Alyssa and Trevor both said things that made me laugh. For both it was one of those moments where you think, I need to write that down. I've done that occasionally, and unfortunately I never write them down in a good place and they always get lost and forgotten about. Anyways, here they are safe and can't get thrown away...
We were eating dinner which was Manicotti (I know what you're thinking, and no, I did not make it, our good friends, the Pebbles, sent us home with leftovers after last night's dinner). Alyssa said, "I don't like this, it has grass in it." I laughed and said, "Alyssa it's not grass, it's spinach." A few minutes later she grumbled, "I don't like this sea weed."
Later I was upstairs in Trevor's room helping him get his pajamas on and he said, "Mommy I want to play Alvin says." I thought about it for a minute and laughed and said, "Simon says?" Trevor: "Oh, yeah." (We recently watched Alvin and the Chipmunks...he got a little mixed up. :-)
