Trevor's toe

Trevor got his toe slammed in the door...OUCH!  We told him his toenail would probably fall off, and now he frequently asks us WHEN it's going to happen.  He's growing impatient...I think he thinks it's kinda cool.

Bee Stings

Aww, the difference between Alyssa and Kylie. I don't know if it's the age or personality...maybe a little of both.

Last week, Kylie was walking in some ground cover in a parking lot. I went over to get her out and saw a ton of bees buzzing around. So I said, "Come on Ky, you need to get out, there's bees in there." I got her out of there and as soon as I put her back on the ground she started saying, "Ouch! Foot! Ouch" and was walking on her heel. So I put her in her carseat and took her shoes off and brushed them off thinking she must have had something in her shoe that was bothering her. Alyssa and Trevor were like, "Did she get stung by a bee?" And I kept saying, "No, no" thinking she would be crying more/harder if she had. But the rest of the way home (about 3 minutes) she was complaining, not really crying, kinda whimpering, saying "Ouch! Bee! Ouch!" Mark was home when we got home and as soon as I got her out of her carseat she was running saying, "Daddy! Bee! Foot! Ouch!" Mark looked a little confused so I said, "She's saying she got stung by a bee, but she didn't." I grabbed her and sat on the couch and decided to look more carefully at her foot and low and behold, it was all swollen around a little red dot, where a bee had indeed, stung her.

Today, the kids were swimming at Grandma and Grandpa Campbell's house. Alyssa got out of the pool and walked over to me. All of a sudden she was like, "Ouch! I stepped on a rock!" Then she picked up her foot and saw a bee under it and SCREAMED HER HEAD OFF for a minute or so. Later, after she calmed down a bit, she was like, "I thought I had stepped on a rock, because Grandpa had told us to be careful of little rocks on the ground and that they hurt to step on, and I was like, yeah that did hurt, but it was really no big deal, and then I saw the bee and realized I had been stung by a bee! And then it hurt really bad!"

Kylie won the bravery award. :-)

Trevor's bad day

This has been one of those days where you just can't WAIT to get one of your kids in bed at night. Trevor was told to clean his room this morning (like most mornings) but today he decided to be really stubborn about it. He was literally in there ALL morning until he came out to eat lunch and go to school. Then, after school, he cried himself to sleep in there. After dinner, he FINALLY came up with the will to get it done. It took him about 1 minute. ALL day of crying and being in his room...for 1 minute of cleaning up! I hope it was worth it! After that we needed to get out of the house so we took a trip to the sports store where he had a total meltdown about wanting a baseball outfit. Then we got home and right before his bath he ran into his dark room, and tripped over his rolled up rug and smacked his head on the bed post. (I guess while he was cleaning his room he decided to roll up his rug??). After he calmed down we had him look in the mirror at his goose-egg and he was shocked at what he saw. He said, "How did that get there?" ..in this kind of "awed" voice. It was funny.

Road trip to Utah

For the 4th of July weekend we went to Utah to visit Mark's sister Krissa and her family, Mark's parents who were visiting, and my sister Lisa and her hubby Dave. It was such a fun trip! This was the kids' longest road trip (about 7 1/2 hours) and they did GREAT! Better than I would have ever imagined, and that's with out DVD players too!
Here is a picture of Kylie and Alyssa with their suckers. This was Kylie's first sucker and the whole time she ate it she was saying, "Mmmm!" It was cute. She was a sticky mess afterward but nothing that a few wipies couldn't fix.
Here's Trevor with his cup full of snacks.
A few hours before we arrived in Provo Mark picked up our big Pepsi that we had gotten at a gas station to find that it was practically gone and was surprised at how fast we had drank it. He looked down to find that the cup had leaked out the bottom and the entire cup holder was filled with Pepsi and it had spilled in to the cupholder next to it, where my cell phone was sitting. My cell phone drowned in Pepsi and was completely fried! It's always exciting to get a new cell phone! So never put your cell phone in a cup holder!
A few hours after we got to Krissa's house we went to the park. Mark was pushing Trevor on the swing and he was going very high, at his own request. When he was all the way back, about to go forward again, he slipped and landed face first on the ground. He didn't look too hurt and this boy's always hurting himself so we gave him hugs and kisses and thought nothing of it, really. He was pretty mopey and kept complaining that his head hurt and ended up throwing up twice that night, so we think he may have gotten his first little concussion. Poor Trevs! And poor Krissa's house! He's doing good now though.

His face didn't look too bad actually, just a little scuff on his cheek and above his right eye...

We were still able to watch some fireworks and the kids loved 'em!

On the way home we stopped in Grand Junction to see my friend Darcy and her family! That was soo fun too!

It was a fun weekend and we loved seeing family and friends we hadn't seen for a while!

Trevor's OUCH!!!

Today we went to one of those places where the water shoots up from the ground. Trevor slipped and fell pretty hard...he scratched his upper lip, obviously, and his shoulder pretty good too. That one has a band-aid on it so there's no picture. Poor Trevor. :-( Good thing I got their pictures taken LAST week!

Kylie, Halloween & Trevor's trip to the dentist

Hi Everyone! Mark, Kylie and I had a lot of fun in Hawaii. It was a very relaxing trip, which is just what I needed! Here are some pictures of Kylie, now 4 months old.

We had so much fun trick-or-treating. We went with the Pebbles and Alyssa and Trevor had A BLAST. It was FREEZING!!! And everyone we were with (neighbors of the Pebbles) were like, this is such great weather!!! I guess they've had rain, snow, and ice the last 3 Halloweens.

Trevor was still able to have a lot of fun, even with his latest injury. Yesterday morning he slipped on the bathroom floor and hit his front tooth on the toilet. It got knocked pretty far back and was bleeding a lot. I took this opportunity to find a dentist. :-) I called and they told me to push the tooth back it to place right away. With a lot of screaming and a lot of blood, I did my best. I took him in and the xray showed no nerve damage but we still need to watch for signs of the tooth dying. They gave him laughing gas and numbing gel around that tooth and she pushed it even further forward. It looks okay but not great. His gums are all discolored and there's still blood around the top of the tooth, and it doesn't look like it's in the right place still, but he seems to be doing okay. Although everytime he eats he seems to bump it a few times and screams. Fun times. I haven't been able to find my camera since we moved, or I'd post a picture.
