Kylie stands up

She walked about 6-7 steps in a row tonight! Of course I could only catch her doing 1 step on tape...but here she is also standing up by herself. Also I couldn't figure out how to turn it, so tilt your head while watching :-)

Waterbabies

Everytime we go swimming I bring my camera and forget to take pictures, so, we had a little photo shoot today, to make sure I got pictures of them swimming this summer!

Kylie's walking!

Well, just beginning to walk. Last night she took 3 steps all by herself, and she was showing off by standing herself up in the middle of the room, holding on to nothing. She was SO proud of herself, it was hilarious. She would stand there and look at us and start cracking up which would make her fall, and then she'd do it again. She totally knew she was doing something cool. She repeated this over and over and over again, it was so funny and so cute! Pictures to come!

Pebbles Flintstone

I can no longer contain Kylie's hair in the headband bows. Her hair has grown so much this summer! It is always hanging down in her eyes and this is just about the only hair style that will work right now so we just call her Pebbles.

Here's a cute toothy grin--she only has the 2 teeth but she can mash up almost everything now with those 2 teeth and her gums. She even ate a whole piece of pizza!

Stair Block

We have been so lucky. Kylie JUST started climbing the stairs. In the past she would climb up one step and stop there. But a few days ago she kept going and climbed all the way up! I've been dreading this day because our stairs are not safety gate friendly. The bottom 4 stairs are really really wide and curvy which makes it almost impossible for a gate. So, I went to Target yesterday to buy a gate to at least put on the 5th stair up where there are walls on both sides. I figured if she fell down from there, at least she wouldn't really hurt herself, just a few steps would only probably scare her, and me. Anyways they didn't have the one I wanted although I did find one that would have probably worked on the bottom of our wide stair case but it was too expensive and Mark wouldn't let me buy it. I tried putting our kitchen chairs along the bottom but she went right under them! So we have resorted to this...and so far it seems to be working!

Road trip to Utah

For the 4th of July weekend we went to Utah to visit Mark's sister Krissa and her family, Mark's parents who were visiting, and my sister Lisa and her hubby Dave. It was such a fun trip! This was the kids' longest road trip (about 7 1/2 hours) and they did GREAT! Better than I would have ever imagined, and that's with out DVD players too!
Here is a picture of Kylie and Alyssa with their suckers. This was Kylie's first sucker and the whole time she ate it she was saying, "Mmmm!" It was cute. She was a sticky mess afterward but nothing that a few wipies couldn't fix.
Here's Trevor with his cup full of snacks.
A few hours before we arrived in Provo Mark picked up our big Pepsi that we had gotten at a gas station to find that it was practically gone and was surprised at how fast we had drank it. He looked down to find that the cup had leaked out the bottom and the entire cup holder was filled with Pepsi and it had spilled in to the cupholder next to it, where my cell phone was sitting. My cell phone drowned in Pepsi and was completely fried! It's always exciting to get a new cell phone! So never put your cell phone in a cup holder!
A few hours after we got to Krissa's house we went to the park. Mark was pushing Trevor on the swing and he was going very high, at his own request. When he was all the way back, about to go forward again, he slipped and landed face first on the ground. He didn't look too hurt and this boy's always hurting himself so we gave him hugs and kisses and thought nothing of it, really. He was pretty mopey and kept complaining that his head hurt and ended up throwing up twice that night, so we think he may have gotten his first little concussion. Poor Trevs! And poor Krissa's house! He's doing good now though.

His face didn't look too bad actually, just a little scuff on his cheek and above his right eye...

We were still able to watch some fireworks and the kids loved 'em!

On the way home we stopped in Grand Junction to see my friend Darcy and her family! That was soo fun too!

It was a fun weekend and we loved seeing family and friends we hadn't seen for a while!

Kylie-Ace Ventura

Yesterday we went swimming and Kylie must have gotten some sunscreen in her hair and it was a little damp when she went down for her nap. When she woke up her hair looked like this...
