Trevor turns 6-Part 2

So the evening of his birthday we were supposed to have a little family birthday party with the Campbell side, but we had to cancel since Trevor was sick. Grandma and Grandpa braved it out (this was BEFORE we knew he had Strep, oops) and still came to wish Trevor a happy birthday and eat cake and ice-cream with us. They brought him this Lego airplane...

...and a new scooter! Trevor rode it around the house all night and all the next day. :-)
Here is his finished Lego airplane. He got a Lego set last year for his birthday and loved putting it together but needed quite a bit of help. This time, he did most of it by himself. I basically just made sure he didn't miss a step. I was pretty impressed. It took us about 2 hours!
Trevor is awesome. He is so full of life and energy. It is exhausting, but can be really fun as well. :-) I love to watch him play sports. He has so much fun and gets some of his energy out...it's great! :-) He is doing great in soccer this season. He usually scores at least 3 goals each game. Some more about Trevor:
*He is doing so great in school.
*He loves Kindergarten.
*He is becoming very independent. When I drop him off at school, he begs me to not get out of the car because he wants to walk up to his classroom all by himself. :-)
*He is a self-starter when it comes to homework. He usually does his whole packet the first day he gets it, without me even asking him.
*He loves Mario and Luigi...he's going to be Mario for Halloween.
*He can be very very sweet with his sisters, at times. :-) When he is, it seriously melts my heart.
*He's GREAT at taking the garbage out and seems to enjoy having that responsibility. On the flip side, he HATES to clean his room. His subborn side really comes out with that one.
*I love that he's not afraid to try new things. He just goes for it, and I love that!

Happy Birthday Buddy!

Trevor turns 6!!!

Trevor had a birthday last week! Blogger would not load all my pics, OF COURSE, so there will be another birthday post soon when I have gathered enough patience to try again. We started the birthday celebrations on Sunday night, the night before his b-day. We had Grandma and Grandpa Telford, Aunt Kelsi, and Great-Grammy and Grandpa Garcia over for dinner and Angel Food Cake, Trevor's choice. He got a DS, MarioKart, and some accessories for the DS from Mark and I, and Grandma and Grandpa Telford. Grammy and Grandpa gave him some money that he spent the next day on two new DS games: Toy Story 3 and Super Mario Brothers. So the day of his actual birthday, Monday, he woke up seeming fine but within an hour he was not feeling so great. He layed on the couch most of the day. It was so sad to see him sick on his birthday. The next day, Tuesday, I took him to the doctor to find out he had Strep Throat. :-( Poor guy! To be continued... (p.s. make sure you read the post under this one about A New Post)

A New Post

Okay so I got this idea from a friend and I love it. I've started a new blog where I will post on it WHEN I post on my real blog. So add this new blog to your blog list in place of my private one, and you'll be able to see when I update my blog. There is also a short cut to my real blog on this "new blog" so all you have to do is click on the link, and then type in your password, and you're to my real blog! Make sense? Try it, you'll see.

First Day of School!

Once again, blogger has uploaded my pictures backwards. And it's not letting me post more than these! And it takes too long to fix it so these will just be kind of out of order. It was Trevor's first day of Kindergarten today! He did SO great! After we took Alyssa to school he spent the next few hours asking me how much longer until he got to go to school. FINALLY, it was time to go. He walked right in, found his name at his table, hung his backpack on his chair, and then sat on the carpet just like the teacher told the kids to do. He gave me about 15 hugs and kisses. Then it was time for all the kids to say good-bye to the parents, and they all turned and waved to us. Trevor waved and blew me a kiss, and that was that! He did so awesome!

Alyssa started 2nd grade today! She hasn't been super thrilled about school starting, BUT she HAS been super thrilled about her outfit she picked out. :-)

Alyssa did awesome too. She got a little sad when it was time for me to leave, but a warning about losing her "treat" (bribe, reward) did the trick, and she walked right in.
Both kids are home now and both had a FABULOUS day! They love their teachers. Alyssa has been so peppy since she got home, and when I picked Trevor up he said, "Why do we have to leave already?!" He wanted to stay longer. Well tomorrow he will get to stay a little longer. Today was a minimum day, which made it a little crazy for me! Alyssa went at 8:20, then back to the school to take Trevor at 11:10, then back to pick up Alyssa at 12:30, then back at 1:40 to pick up Trevor. Normal day for Alyssa is 8:20-2:30 and for Trevor 11:10-2:30 so I can at least pick them up at the same time. I think it's going to be a great year!

Kylie turns 3!!!

This was a fun birthday for Kylie (and us) because she totally understood what was happening.  A week ago we told her that her birthday was in 1 week, and she would say, "only one more week till my birt-day!"  Then the day before her birthday we told her that it was tomorrow and she would say, "Tomorrow I be fwee!"

She opened Alyssa and Trevor's presents first thing in the morning.  Trevor and Alyssa always get so excited for Kylie's birthday, but Trevor was especially excited this year.  He was bouncing off the walls at 6:45 a.m. and ran around and woke up Kylie, Alyssa, and me.

Kylie was pretty tired from being woken up so early.  After she opened her presents she just laid on the couch, so quiet.  I asked her how old she was now so this is her showing me 3 fingers.

Her birthday pancake.  She didn't want to blow out the candles.  For some reason she just wanted to suck on her hands...?

Later in the day when Mark got home from work, she opened our presents.  She loved her shopping cart and immediately went shopping at "Target" (she said, "I go shopping at Target now") and loaded her cart up with pretend food and items around the house.

Kylie loves Disney characters from watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and is always talking about Daisy Duck...

Her princess cake that Daddy picked out...so cute!

Again, she didn't want to blow out the candles...?  Trevor helped her out. :-)

Enjoying her yummy birthday cake...

Kylie was thrilled to see this new Princess bike from Grandma and Grandpa Telford. :-)

Well my youngest is not a baby, or even a toddler anymore.  She has told me a few times since her birthday that she is "a big girl" now.  And she is!  But she's still so cute and tiny.  I'm not very good at journaling, so...a few things about Kylie:

*She is really easygoing and good at entertaining herself.  She has the best imagination of all of my children and will talk to her babies and Little People and play pretend.  I love to quietly watch and listen to her as she plays.

*I love the 3 year old brain...I took her to Build-a-bear today with some of her birthday money, and she named her stuffed bunny "Foo-fee."  And she has been talking to foo-fee and calling her foo-fee all day.  Haha, love the name.

*She takes herself potty all by herself now, YAY!

*She HATES to have her hair brushed.  She starts crying the second the brush touches her hair, even before there is a tangle.  Then she puts her hands in her hair so I can't brush it...it's a struggle, every morning.

*She has a hard time saying the "S" sound especially when followed by a consanent.  So she can say sun, soup, socks, but spot is pot, story is tory.  So I will say, "Kylie, can you say...sssss-tory?"  and she'll do it.  So now, if I ever can't understand what she is saying she thinks "sssss" is the answer.  One time she was saying she wanted to play with the lion and I couldn't understand what she wanted, so she was like, "Ssssssss I want to play with the lion!"  She does that every now and then. :-)

*She LOVES to do laundry!  She gets SUPER excited about it.  It is funny.  If she hears me in the laundry room, she will come running and say, "Don't do laundry wit-out me!"  I put the wet clothes from the washer on the dryer door and she pushes them in, and then puts a dryer sheet in.  She'll also say, "Mom!  The laundry's done!" sometimes a few times a day...even when I'm not even doing laundry, in hopes that there's laundry to be switched to the dryer.  She also LOVES to sort through the laundry basket full of clean clothes and put everyone's clothes in to their own separate pile.  She's going to make a great little mommy someday. :-)

Kylie we love you!  Happy Birthday!

Alyssa and her Great Grandmother

This is a picture of my Grandma (my Dad's Mom) when she was 19 years old.  Something about it reminds me of Alyssa.  My parents and siblings thought the same thing.  Kinda neat!   (Note:  I actually don't think the picture of Alyssa on my sidebar is a great one to compare her to my Grandma, haha.  She looks more like the real Alyssa in person). :-)

Crazy Hair Day-Alyssa

You can't tell from the picture but it was sparkly too. :-)

Easter

It was another FUN Easter this year!  The kids each got a movie and candy in their baskets, which were hiding when they woke up in the morning.  Alyssa found hers behind the pantry door, Trevor's was in the laundry room sink, and Kylie's was behind the curtain in the family room.  They had so much fun hunting for their baskets.  Alyssa got The Princess and the Frog, Trevor got Alvin and the Chipmunks, the Squequel, and Kylie got Mickey Mouse Clubhouse-Featuring Minnie episodes. :-)  After they found their Easter baskets, they went outside and hunted for eggs in the backyard.  There aren't very many places for the Easter Bunny to hide eggs, so it wasn't much of a hunt, but they still had fun, and it was perfect for Kylie!
We have a rule that whatever is in their baskets, they get to keep for themselves and they don't have to share it with anyone.  But whatever is in the eggs, goes in a big bowl.  This was Mark's idea and I think it works beautifully.

Happy Easter!
