Slip-N-Slide & Strawberries

We stayed cool in the HOT 93 degree weather today with the good old fashion slip-n-slide. Even I took a turn! (nobody got a picture but that's probably a good thing). Then the kids enjoyed some of the biggest strawberries they'd ever seen. It was a fun afternoon.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! This morning the kids woke up to find a note from the Easter Bunny. It said that their Easter baskets were hidden somewhere around the house and that they would have to find them...a tradition from when I was a kid. They thought this was so funny. Kylie's was under an end table, Trevor's in the oven, and Alyssa's in the dryer. After church they had the easter egg hunt in our backyard. Here are MANY pictures...a special thanks to Grandma Michelle! She made the girls' dresses.

Bubbles & Water FUN!

We've been loving the nice Spring weather. The kids ask to ride their bikes every day so as long as it's nice, we do! Sometimes we bring them to a park and sometimes we just ride them out front...luckily we live on a pretty quiet street so they can ride in the street. Kylie LOVES to be outside. She is constantly requesting to go outside by saying, "ouw-siyde." She got this lawn mower bubble blower for Christmas and she used up all the bubbles pretty quickly. We finally got some new bubbles the other day and she's already gone through 2 bottles! She played with this thing all day today. If you have a toddler, I definitely recommend this toy...it has provided so much entertainment for Kylie and I'm sure many many more hours.
After a while of riding bikes outside it got kinda warm and the kids wanted to play with the hose so I turned it on the "mist" and let them at it. They got their swimsuits on so of course, Kylie wanted hers on to0. She kept saying, "shwi-shoot" till I gave in and put hers on too, even though she wanted nothing to do with the hose water. She was so excited to be wearing her swimsuit. She kept touching it and smiling and saying "shwi-shoot."

They had so much fun and were actually getting along so well!

New haircuts for the girls

This was the first haircut that Alyssa actually wanted to get. Usually she throws a fit about a tiny trim, but she actually requested to get her hair cut short like "Chrissa's" (an American Girl). I'm super thrilled about this haircut because it's easier to brush and quicker to wash and dry! She loves her new haircut so much. She got it cut yesterday afternoon and ever since she checks herself out in the mirror constantly and does all these hair tosses and poses while she's looking at herself...ha ha it's hilarious!
Here's Kylie's new hair cut. I'm not in love with it, I want her hair to grow longer so I can do cute things with it, but the back was again growing way longer than the sides so I decided to even it up a little.

Alyssa Riding her bike!

YAY for Alyssa! She can ride her bike now with no training wheels. She's actually been doing it for a few weeks and she LOVES it. It was a lot of work teaching her how but now she's really really good at it! YAY!

Trevor riding his bike

About a month ago, Mark took the older kids' training wheels off their bikes. He's only been able to go out with them a few times, but Trevor got the hang of it really fast. I was able to get him on camera today. Alyssa is not quite there yet. After the 1st time of trying, and crashing, she refused to get back on her bike until her training wheels were put back on. Well we refuse to put them back on, so we'll see how long it takes for her to get back on. We thought once she saw Trevor doing it, she'd be like, "okay if Trevor can do it, I can do it" which is usually how things work for the 2 of them. But she still refuses. She was actually really happy for him today though and was cheering him on. It was cute. Here are a few pics and a video at the end...

February 27th

Alright. Here's the deal. February is over.

We went over our budget a little bit tonight. ($15) And, I can't promise that we won't make a trip to In-N-Out tomorrow for lunch. But, the whole reason for me doing this budget is because last month was just a little out of hand, and we did much better this month, so, Mark's happy.
:-)

I'm going to keep doing a dining out budget, but I'm not going to bore you guys (and myself!) with posting it on my blog.

Thanks for be involved in my little budget.
