Disney World - April 30, 2012

We visited Animal Kingdom in the morning.  The kids had a blast seeing all of the animals on the safari ride.

Easter 2012

On the Saturday before Easter, we finally got around to dying Easter eggs!  The kids had fun dying them, and then they wanted to draw faces and hair on them with a permanent marker.  Kylie got reeeally attached to hers, especially "Megan."  She actually played with her little egg-people for quite a while, and then suddenly decided she wanted to eat one.  She chose Megan, and had Trevor help peel it, and then she tried a bite.  She didn't like it. (no surprise there).  A few minutes later it was as if she'd just realized what she'd done.  She cried over the death of Megan for about 20 minutes.  She even cried out, "Meeeeegaaaan!!!!!" a few times.  I admit, I had to go around the corner and let out a few silent little chuckles, even though I did feel a little bad for her and her loss.  Anyway...the eggs:

Saturday evening we celebrated Easter with Grandma & Grandpa Telford, Grammy & Grandpa Garcia, Uncle Rick, and Aunt Aileen & her new fiance, and the kids enjoyed their Easter egg hunt there!

Sunday morning the kids woke up and found their Easter baskets

that the Easter bunny had hidden in the house.  They were pleased to find lots of candy, chocolate & a new game in each of their baskets.  Then after breakfast, they hunted for eggs in our backyard.  There aren't many clever places to hide eggs in our backyard, but the kids always have fun running around and putting them in their baskets anyway.

Here are my cute kids, all dressed up and ready for church.  I am not very good at getting the kids holiday dresses/clothes.  Luckily, I have a mother-in-law who makes the girls adorable Easter dresses!

Spring Break

For Spring break this year, I surprised the kids with a fun "outing" every day.  They knew they'd be going somewhere, but they didn't know where until the morning of.  As usual I was terrible about taking pictures, but managed to get at least 1 at each place, except for Friday. 

Our week in a nutshell:

Monday - Bowling!

Tuesday - Sky High (The trampoline place)

Wednesday - Roller skating/roller blading--definitely the favorite activity of the week.  The kids have asked us on a daily basis when they can go again.  It's funny that it ended up being their favorite because Alyssa and Kylie were both pretty nervous about going.  Alyssa was just a little nervous but Kylie was reeeally nervous.  She cried for about 20 minutes that morning because she did not want to go.  The minute she got those skates on she was all smiles and everyone had a BLAST!

Thursday - Bounce-U -- This is Trevor boxing with ginormous boxing gloves.  It was so funny!

Friday - Mark took the day off and we took the kids to see Mirror, Mirror.  Alyssa and Trevor liked it but Kylie was really bored. 

We had a fun week!  Now they're back to school for 3 weeks, then Disney World, then 2 weeks of school and it's Summer vacation?!?! 

Happy 9th Birthday Alyssa!!!

On Thursday evening, January 12th, we celebrated Alyssa's birthday with Mark's family.  Grandma & Grandpa Campbell, and Aunt Tarah and the boys came over to help us celebrate Alyssa and have Baskin Robbins ice-cream cake.

Alyssa got money from Grandma & Grandpa and Aunt Tarah gave her these super cute jammies that came with matching doll jammies.

Alyssa got an Easy Bake Oven for Christmas.  She loooooves to bake and I love these little packages because she can do them from start to finish, all by herself.  These should last her a while! :)

Her birthday fell on a Sunday this year so we didn't go anywhere to celebrate, but Grandma & Grandpa Telford did have us over for a special birthday dinner.  :)

Alyssa's Birthday Party

Alyssa got to have a friend birthday party this year and she chose to have a "late night" party.  It was basically a slumber party, without the slumber part. :) Her friends came over (in their pajamas) for pizza, games, a movie, cake & ice-cream, presents, and then went home at bed-time. :)  It was a BLAST.
