Kylie only eats 1 thing...

You always hear that kids love consistency and repetition, but when it comes to eating, they can be SO NON-consistent. Kylie is 14 months and I think this is the hardest age to feed. At this age, they can no longer get the nutrients they need from formula, and Kylie thinks she is much too old and sophisticated for baby food, even though she only has 3 1/2 teeth. Sometimes I don't think she eats enough food in a day to keep a bird alive. She'll down something one day and won't touch it the next. I find myself offering her up to 4 different things for lunch before I find something she will eat, if anything. For a while, she was thrilled with the idea of using a fork, so anything she could pick up with a fork, she ate. That lasted a few days and was GREAT. Although, now she thinks she has mastered utensils and wants to eat EVERYTHING ALL BY HERSELF, including yogurt and oatmeal. Yogurt isn't too bad because it kinda sticks to the spoon. But oatmeal is just a mess and she doesn't end up eating very much. But the excitement of the fork has worn off now and she usually just picks something up with her fork, then takes it off with her fingers, and chucks it across the table. Ughh, anyway feeding her is just not my favorite right now. BUT, I have found something that she loves and it's not messy. She is in love with yogurt drinks. She DOWNS them. She usually drinks 2 in a row. After she finishes the first one she is SO upset that it's gone. I'm sure next week she won't touch the things, but for now, it's one thing I can count on her eating, or drinking. Here she is this morning before church with her yogurt drink, and yes, that's drool on her shirt and dress...I think she's getting a few more teeth.
